I started photographing this series too late to catch the best of the fall colors this year. But I did manage to find something that you don’t see every year: fall colors and Halloween decorations juxtaposed with patriotic displays, a by-product of the September 11 terrorist attacks and the ongoing war on terrorism.
Halloween itself is a little different this year, due to what some are calling “the Taming of the Boo.” Blood and gore are seldom seen in decorative displays this year; ghosts and skeletons appear but are secondary to pumpkins and other “non-violent” items.
