On May 1, I saw Dr. Downing, the ophthalmologist, at 8:45 am. Pressure was high: 31 in the left eye and 45 in the right. Normal is about 20. He diagnosed me with glaucoma and started me on two eye drops.
On May 8, I saw Dr. Downing again at 8:45 am. Pressure was normal: 21 in the left eye, 22 in the right. I was instructed to continue the drops. Laser surgery for the right eye was set up for May 31; the procedure is said to take only about five minutes. I should be able to discontinue one of the drops after that; these drops burn and cause mild headaches.
