We have been wanting to replace the old silverware cabinet that the microwave sits on. On the way back into Janesville, we saw Main Street Mercantile, which sells used furniture and stuff, so we looked around but didn’t find anything we wanted. ~ Next we went to Carousel Consignments on Main Street; we didn’t find a cabinet, but I landed a nice little Peavey amplifier that I can use for performing my music!
Bought a nice used Peavey amplifier at Carousel Consignments on
Saturday (Feb. 18). Everything works perfectly, but it’s designed for a guitar,
not a keyboard and vocal mic. ~ Aha, I found the old Behringer preamp that I
used in recording my CD in 2006. A fair amount of fiddling with the controls
and voila! Music! Now I can do solo gigs (at least in small venues).

Got new mic and new cable for my keyboard yesterday.
Used them at Riverside Ramblers gig in Footville this afternoon,
and everything worked beautifully. Did Open Mic at Mocha Moment
this evening (my first of 2012) and my set of 7 songs went off fine.

Went to Voigt Music Center, bought a Kala Mahogany Concert Ukulele, and special-ordered a case for it.
I got brave and took my new ukulele to the Open Mic at Mocha
Moment tonight. I’ve only been playing for a few weeks and had only played
once for anyone else until now, and that was two easy songs for my wife and
a close friend... so tonight I did six songs in various keys. I was terribly
nervous as I stumbled through the set, but everyone told me I sounded great.
