This post originally appeared on Umm… He Said.
I haven’t posted anything in a few days, and this silly poem just came to me, so I decided to post it.
I’m the Umm, and umm the Mmm,[1]
And you know where to find me,
Because if not beside, then you’re
In front of or behind me.
For I am all around, you see,
In happy people standing;
Why, then, are you mystified,
My whereabouts demanding?
Join me, if you wish to be
Adventurous and daring;
For many more are just like me,
But most are never caring.
[1] “I’m the Umm” is pretty self-explanatory, since “Umm” is short for “Ummamum.” But what about “umm the Mmm?” Well, “Mmm” is usually used to mean “delicious” or at least “good,” so the whole line could be translated as “I’m the Ummamum, and the Ummamum is good.” So it isn’t just a random thought, although it is nearly so.
