Halloween, Asian Food and More

Posted Friday, November 11, 2005 at 11:30 p.m.

We had a fun Halloween. Chrissy dressed up Goth; Joe went as Light Soul, a character he invented for the wrestling game on Gamecube; I stayed home to pass out candy but was dressed as the Ummamum, with a black afro wig, black lips, green skin and a green tank top.

We had two electric pumpkins on the front porch, and I played spooky music and sound effects on the boombox. Wendi sat with me for a bit, but then it got chilly, and we came inside.

We had only 34 trick-or-treaters, but Joe and Chrissy brought back a ton of candy. Altogether, it was a chaotic but fun-filled evening.

Wendi and I found an Asian Grocery store in town that has awesome food items! We shopped there October 21 and again November 3, and Wendi made a couple of fabulous dinners, with some help from Chrissy.

Wendi made some wonderful fried chicken on November 6.

We took two of our cats, Shadow and Stormy, to the vet for their annual shots November 8 and 9. All of the cats are doing fine.

We started our Christmas shopping early this year, on October 26; we are already nearly finished.

From One Charlie to Another

Posted Friday, November 18, 2005 at 1:40 p.m.

I just received this friendly email, which was sent yesterday:

Well, Charlie, as one Charlie to another, I almost feel like part of your family. I am originally from Odessa, TX but lived most of my adult life in San Antonio, TX. I now live here in Monterrey, Mexico. I just want to thank you for having your website up. It was a pleasure to meet you and your family. I enjoyed the pictures and the humor. I found your site while searching for some metric conversion formulas and ended up staying for awhile. May God Bless you and yours.
